Printmaker and academic

Marta was born in Budapest, grew up in Montréal, and studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Geneva, before eventually finding her way to Australia. Here she completed an MFA in fine art printmaking and lectured for many years at both UNSW and the University of Technology, Sydney.

Marta began her career as a printmaker in the traditional discipline of etching, but soon embraced alternative and hybrid practices, incorporating hand-drawn, photographic and typographic elements, and the use of photopolymer or ‘solar’ plates for both intaglio and relief printing. Marta enjoys working across traditional and digital processes, exploring the creative possibilities of each approach. She has exhibited widely, with work represented in public and private collections in Australia, Europe and North America.

Marta’s work can be purchased in store only – please get in touch if you would like to see it.
