Illustrator & Musician

Dan Thrax is a Sydney-based illustrator, zine writer and musician with a love of punk music, horror movies and skate culture.
He has worked on poster art and merch for a number of well-loved Sydney bands over the years, and has published his own comic zines – Nukesville, Cryclops and Rob Noxious. He works in skateboard design, and plays in several punk and hardcore bands in Sydney. Dan’s work is always funny, often acerbic, and sometimes political. It is painstakingly produced using thousands of tiny hand-drawn dots, and will be a talking point in any space. The works Dan is showing at Lonely Coat are focused on Australian mythology and folklore – from the Blue Mountains Panther and the Luna Park Ghost Train fire, to the notorious Aussie Drop Bear. The works are framed and professionally matted.
